Its been a long long while since I last wrote on this blog and I have to say that my interest in the rubics 360 has kind of dissapeared.
Am now much more into model trains and loved this webiste: trains o scale.
As a child I would do loads of model train building and since reading some of the books reviewed on the above site, its time to get going again.

I think its from the people that posted the CBC hands on Rubik 360 video earlier this week.

This is way funnier though. It shows a technique for solving the Rubik 360 know as “luck” rather then “skill”.

I’ll probably be proven wrong on this one and this guy replicates his technique and perfects it until he is world champion speed 360′ing (hmmm does not work as well as “speedcubing“).

It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to solve it by just shaking and shaking. The inner sphere is weighted with the exit hole at the top, so you need to get it spinning in order for the coloured balls to work their way out. Check the video after the break.

Winning Moves iBall

iball-1.jpgThe iBall looks like a simpler version of the Rubik’s 360 but is still a great 3d puzzle. It has seven metal balls lodged inside the clear plastic sphere. To win iBall shake, rattle and roll all seven metal balls into the proper location. This is a great childrens learning toy to help them with their concentration and focus.

Family Games Owl

Owl-1.jpgThe aim of this brain teaser puzzle is to release the puzzle ring, which is attached to a strong woven cord and fed through a slot with a ball, which is then attached to the block’s. Once you solve this one once it will be easy to do it again.

Money Maze – Money Puzzle

Rubik’s Twist

Today the Rubik’s cube is still one of the best selling brain teasers and logic puzzle. Its also one of the best educational toys and games, and suited as a children learning toys.

I’ve summarised the content in this post. They also send some more press shots which I have also included for your viewing pleasure.

As highlighted on other pages and articles, the Rubik’s 360 will be released late summer. Pricing will be different per region.

The Rubik’s 360 is 10 centimetres or so in diameter, and  consists of a transparent plastic sphere housing two further internal transparent spheres, both independently suspended on a rotating axis, with six coloured balls at
its centre.

In essence, the object of the puzzle is to steer the coloured balls through holes in the spheres and into their respective coloured ‘home slot’ domes on the outside. Like the Cube, you don’t have to solve it in one go. The 360 has special horizontal rings to ‘lock’ the balls in place once you’ve captured them correctly on its circumference.

Rubik's 360 packaging

Not sure whether this is a pre-emptive product page, but Entertainment Earth has just gone live with a page in their shop where you can preorder the Rubik 360 for $15 and get it delivered in July.

Update 14:32 5 Feb:

The webpage has been updated and now shows packaging. I guess its real and not a scam.
